Cameron Merrill Named Editor of Ministry Matters

Nashville, TN – The United Methodist Publishing House (UMPH) announced that Rev. Cameron Merrill has been named to the post of Ministry Matters and Leadership Resources Editor.Ministry Matters is an online source of book excerpts, articles, and reference materials for preaching, teaching, and pastoral care, serving pastors and other local church leaders.

Rev. Merrill is an elder in the North Carolina Annual Conference and will continue to serve as pastor of Hillsborough United Methodist Church. He is a graduate of Duke Divinity School and  is currently completing postgraduate research in systematic theology with the University of Aberdeen.

Ministry Matters is a digital platform developed and managed by The United Methodist Publishing House. Since its inception, the website has made practical tools and contemporary  insights easily accessible to thousands of clergy, worship leaders, and teachers.

“We aim to increase the availability of information and help that is indispensable for local church leaders,” said Merrill. “This period of ministry feels more experimental, more unstable than what  was true just a few years ago. As I serve as the pastor in one local church, our Publishing House team will strive to uncover fresh ways to encourage and support leaders for diverse faith communities across the connection. Local churches can model social renewal as fertile centers for transformative ministries that align with what God is doing in Jesus Christ for the sake of the  world.”

“With Cameron’s leadership, Ministry Matters will continue and expand its reputation as a trusted source of practical, relevant, and theologically vibrant help for local church leaders,” said Rev. Brian K. Milford, President and Publisher of UMPH. Cameron brings a wonderful background of study and training combined with practical experience and a deep passion for supporting vital local churches."
